Hi Beauties, today I am doing a quick review on the LA Girl products which have been long overdue. I actually purchased these items a while back but had forgotten about the review so my apologies for this. Once again like most products, the LA Girl Strobe Lite Strobing Powders have been all over social media and people have been praising this highlighter for it’s beautiful shades and application. These strobe powders were selling like ‘hot cakes’ and there is no exaggeration here – people have been waiting for months for it to launch here in South Africa so when the launch happened everyone rushed out to buy them. I swatched all of the colours in store and settled for the colour 40 Watt as it suited me best.
Strobing means highlighting so use this strobing powder to highlight your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose or your cupids bow. It has multiple uses however avoid highlighting breakouts – you wouldn’t want to accentuate problem areas as it will show the blemishes more. LA Girl strobing powders come in 12 shades and there is a colour to suit all skin tones, which make it such an easy for you to choose your perfect colour. The shades range from pearl whites to pinks and champagne colours, so you can decide if you want one or all of the colours in your collection.
Strobe Lite Strobing Powder
Above I have swatched the colour 40 Watt for you which I purchased and you can see how pigmented this strobe powder is. The texture is in between a powder and cream – it just goes onto the skin smoothly without any fallout or mess. The shade I chose is more of a pink/peach tone and it makes my skin dewy – I love the application of this highlighter as it is lightweight and glides on, with a lot of shimmer in it. You need to go in to a store and experience the feel of this product to understand for yourself just how wonderful these highlighters are. The Strobe Lite powders are free from paraben and fragrances which makes them perfect for sensitive skin types. I highly recommend these strobing powders as they are really effective in highlighting and they also affordable – they retail for R149,95 at Dischem stores.
Along with the strobe light highlighters I purchased the LA Girl Glide Eyeliner which has become my favourite as it glides on the water line when applying, with no mess. You can see in the picture above how dark the colour is and how smooth it looks, with a bit of silver speckles – the silver is not so visible but these make your eyes look beautiful. In fact I attended an event and I had so many people ask me what eyeliner I had on because they were so amazed at how my eyes looked. This was another affordable product from LA Girl as it retails for R45,00…..Yes just R45!
Another favourite of mine is the LA Girl Matte Lipsticks – these lipstick come in so many shades that are suitable for different seasons. Although they are called matte they are so moisturizing yet last a good few hours on your lips. The colour I bought is called ‘bite me’ and I am so excited to use it more in the winter. If you look at the picture above the colour looks reddish but when you apply it has more of a darker tone to it. I will definitely be getting more shades because this lipstick makes my lips smooth and are longwearing which is perfect for me. The Matte lipsticks retail for R49,95 and is a bargain price for such a quality lipstick.
There has been much talk about the LA Girl Pro Coverage Foundation but I didn’t buy it as I have other foundations I love using. I did however try the foundation and it is really nice so next time you visit Dischem Pharmacy be sure to try these incredible products out. All products in this review have been purchased from Dischem.
