Today I am reviewing some fabulous products from The Body Shop that I bought a few weeks back at their secret sale. What’s the secret sale you ask? Well, the secret sale is a sale that The Body Shop has without advertising it in the media. Basically what happens, they notify their members that they going to be having for eg. a 30% discount on most of their products in the store for the weekend. Members are notified by email or sms of this awesome sale so if you not a member yet, go and sign up for free at your closest Body Shop and never miss a sale from them again.
Vitamin C Glow-Revealing Liquid Peel
This gentle peeling solution acts as a soft exfoliator, trapping and lifting off surface cells and pollutants revealing skin that glows from within.
- Gel-to-peel technology
- Exfoliating can help to reduce blemishes, the signs of ageing and sun damage
- Infused with hand harvested camu camu berries, rich in vitamin c
- Skin appears smoother, calmer and alive with radiance
We all know that Vitamin C is excellent for our skin especially when it comes to ageing. I have been using the Vitamin C Glow-Revealing Peel for a few weeks now but let me just say that this will give you an instant result. The first time I used it I was so shocked to see how the clear gel became so clumpy, removing the dead skin off my face. You just need to use a small amount of the gel, lather it onto you face and keep massaging for about 2 minutes – you will see lots of clumping but you will be so amazed at how the dead skin just comes out. Then wash your face to remove the gel and dead skin off. This leaves your skin so bright, soft and glowing for days. I suggest using it at night as it is a peel and you don’t want to go immediately into the sun. Make sure you moisturise your face properly after using the peel as it does make your skin a bit firm but once your moisturiser is on then your skin feels soft. When I used the peel at night and woke up the next morning, my skin was still so soft and you could actually see the difference it made to face.
Like I mention a few times before, I have very sensitive skin so I was happy that my skin did not react badly to this peel. However, I do recommend that you do a test patch on your skin before applying it to your entire face. I am really happy with this purchase I made and I highly recommend this product to those who want a more healthy and radiant look. This product retails for R175 from The Body Shop and you would not regret buying it. I do prefer this peel compared to the Drops of Youth – Youth Liquid Peel because this gives you a better result.
Drops Of Youth – Youth Liquid Peel
Enriched with edelweiss, sea holly and criste marine plant stem cells, the Youth Liquid Peel helps to instantly peel away impurities, dead skin cells and pollutants. Skin appears smoother, more youthful and healthy looking.
• This transforming gel-to-peel texture lifts and traps any impurities and dead skin cells sitting on the skin’s surface
• The unique texture then peels away, taking the impurities with it, revealing fresh, clean, exfoliated skin below
• Skin is left free from impurities and prepared for moisturisation
• 100% Vegan
This peel is used exactly the same way as the Vitamin C Glow-Revealing peel but the difference is that I didn’t see much results compared to the Vitamin C peel. It does remove the dead skin off but it didn’t give me that extra glow or softness that the Vitamin C peel did. In my opinion, I suggest if you want to buy one of these peels then go for the Vitamin C Glow-Revealing peel as it is more effective. The Drops of Youth peel is slightly more expensive as it retails for R225.
