Hi beauties, this is a short review of my skincare routine for 2016/2017. I am often asked by my friends and family as to what my daily skincare routine is, so I thought I would do this post to share some of my favourite brands and their products. Whilst the products aren’t new on the market, they are products that work well for me and I thought that this is a ‘must share’ with you.
I have used Lancôme for many years and I must say that this is one of the best luxury skincare brands out there. The Genifique range is gentle on your skin and gives you a radiant and youthful look. I have sensitive skin so finding a product that doesn’t give me a breakout is very important. However, last year I left my job to study full time and could not afford to purchase some of the products, as they are pricey and had to opt for cheaper products which I will share below. Although Lancôme products are expensive, they are definitely worth every penny if you want gorgeous skin.
Changing your skincare routine that works for you is hard but not impossible, especially since we have a wide variety of cheaper brand products to choose from. For me, I had to choose a product that was gentle yet effective for my skin and I knew what I was going for in an affordable range. A combination of Cetaphil cleansing lotion and Nutraderm moisturising cream has done wonders for my skin. What I love most about these products are that they are so gentle that even my kids can use it. It is suitable for all skin types and all ages so if you looking for a product that is not harsh on the skin and affordable then try Cetaphil and Nutraderm.
I love exfoliating my skin 3 times a week to get rid of dead skin cells so I use the Clarins exfoliator which has microbeads in them and this is an amazing product from Clarins.
If you have dry skin like me then you will love the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsule – Daily Youth Restoring Serum. I use this at night as it is so hydrating for the skin that when you wake up in the morning, you can see the glow in your skin. This is a favourite product of mine from Elizabeth Arden.
Using a brightening mask at least once a week is something I have been trying to do since last year but have to be honest that I haven’t really kept up to it. When I do put a mask on it is usually the Guinot instant brightening mask that I adore and I also a brightening mask by Clarins, this product leaves my skin so smooth and soft.
For my dark, puffy under eyes I use Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lift and Firm eye cream as well as Lancôme Genifique Yeux light pearl eye illuminator. I do intend on trying new products this year for my dark circles as my eyes are quite bad due to not having enough sleep.
I was a person who never wore sunscreen until a few years back, when a beauty consultant told me how important it is for us to wear a sunscreen everyday. I use the Cetaphil Daylong Spf 30 sunscreen on a daily basis as it just settles into the skin immediately once you put it on and it is not greasy. It is not fragranced so that is the only thing I don’t like about the product but other than that it is a good sunscreen for everyday use as it is very gentle for the skin. When I want a tinted sunscreen, I use the Vichy Capital Soleil Spf 50 which gives me a nice light coverage if I am going out of the house. Vichy is a good brand that I have used for many years and I definitely recommend their products.
I saved the best for last and that is the RegimA Scar Repair, which I call ‘miracle in a bottle’. I was severely injured on my face last year after I had a terrible fall in my driveway. My face had awful looking scars which healed in time but the marks kept on getting darker. I had a family member who recommended RegimA Scar repair to me and said that it was an amazing product. She decided to send me a bottle of this cream to try and said that I must be consistent with using this product for it to work and I agreed. 4 weeks after using the scar repair treatment my marks had disappeared and I could not believe that a product could work so quickly, especially since I had really dark marks – but it did. I have been raving about this product to all my friends and family and can’t express enough just how wonderful this product is, that is why I personally call it ‘miracle in a bottle’. Love this product and would recommend it to anyone who wants to get rid of their scars.
That was my skincare routine for 2016/2017 and I hope that this year I can try a lot more brands that are suitable for my sensitive skin.
